Walsh Vision to Offer Mobile VoIP Service

June 17, 2011

Wireless business solutions provider Walsh Vision, with a little help from cloud computing company 8x8 (News - Alert), will now be offering mobile VoIP and cloud unified communications (UC) services as part of its Mobile Office solution for business customers.

"With accelerating demand for integrated mobile technologies that support dispersed workforces, the addition of 8x8's mobile VoIP and cloud communications offerings couldn't be more timely," said Chick Walsh, chief strategy officer of Walsh Vision, in a statement. "As a long standing business partner of Sprint (News - Alert), we look forward to helping existing and prospective Sprint business customers achieve greater levels of productivity and efficiency with 8x8's powerful and innovative unified communications services.”

Walsh Vision, a nationally recognized innovator of customized wireless solutions, offers services for corporate enterprise, general business, and public safety customers with a comprehensive set of fully integrated communications product offerings, including wireless data, multimedia and mobility solutions and advanced support services.

Thanks to its new partnership with 8x8, Walsh will now be able to enhance its portfolio with 8x8's award-winning cloud-based communications solutions including 8x8 Virtual Office VoIP business phone service and 8x8 Virtual Office Pro web-based unified communications solution, according to company officials.

"As one of the leading system integrators in the wireless IP connectivity industry, Walsh Vision has built an outstanding reputation for innovation, reliability and customer support," said 8x8 Chairman and CEO Bryan Martin (News - Alert). "We look forward to working closely with them to deploy our IP voice, video, mobile and data services over expanding wireless broadband and cellular networks."

In related industry news, Alcazar Networks, a nationwide wholesale VoIP provider, announced that it has expanded its dialer termination footprint to cover 100 percent of Canada which includes over 26,400 routes. These Canada routes are in addition to the wholesale VoIP company’s full US48 dialer termination deck which currently has over 140,800 routes.

“We've been working on expanding our dialer termination footprint for the past few months, and I'm happy to say it's finally here!," John Chisca, vice president of Alcazar Networks, told TMCnet. "The demand for US48 and Canada dialer traffic has been overwhelming.  Making Canada available for our dialer termination customers has allowed them to not only save but to use one company, rather than having a second termination carrier providing their routes"

While a lot of companies offer wholesale termination, they often stay away from dialer termination because they can experience poor dialer deck rates and poor connectivity between every call, according to company officials at Alcazar Networks. However, for the wholesale VoIP company, it was imperative to meet a market need.
