Adding Value with Toll-Free Routing Data
Toll-free numbers are fixtures of the telecommunications landscape. For years, a toll-free number stood for customer service and sales, and while the omnichannel reality of the contact center world is expanding means for customers to connect with businesses, Toll-free numbers aren’t going anywhere fast.
This week, provider of Toll-free numbering and registry administration services, Somos announced NetNumber (News - Alert) is the initial Somos Authorized Distributor of RouteLink as part of the TITAN Centralized Signaling and Routing Control (CSRC) platform.
"This partnership extends our reach to a broader set of network operators who are already realizing the benefits of TITAN," said Ryan Karnas, Director, Product Management at Somos. "RouteLink® adds more value to NetNumber customers, who now have access to authoritative Toll-Free routing data and the ability to store it locally."
The intent of TITAN is to reduce complexity and cost involved in the routing process for service providers. TITAN CSRC possesses software-based infrastructure to address network needs like signaling control, subscriber databases and routing policy enforcement.
The pairing allows NetNumber to provide RouteLink services via the TITAN platform, which means network operators gaining direct access to authoritative Toll-free routing data. Current TITAN users can download a complete copy of Somos’ authoritative routing data – direct from the SMS/800 Toll-Free (TFN) Number Registry. Each call is stored, analyzed and processed locally, and based on business rules is routed in the most efficient way possible.
Wholesale VoIP providers are reinforcing portfolios in a number of ways in order to support growing demand for multitude of communications services. In this connected, data-driven world, toll-free numbers have a home, and this announcement cements this reality.
