VoIP Innovations Makes Trek to ITEXPO in Miami

Also participating at ITEXPO in Miami this week - yes, putting up with the southern Florida weather this time of year, certainly above and beyond the call - is VoIP Innovations, a subsidiary of ABG Capital.
The Pittsburgh-based firm is an IP-based wholesale communication provider, with 'literally thousands of POPs and DIDs.'
Officials say the company was ,'designed from the ground up, built firmly upon Tier 1 telecommunication carriers,' and say their network 'provides extensive coverage, full-redundancy, flexibility and affordability.'
The vendor offers two available options for providing incoming caller ID information for all calls. This service can be used for VoIP Innovations (News - Alert) originated numbers, as well as a standalone service for numbers terminated with other providers.
They also have an automatic inclusion feature - 'by selecting the option in our Web-based back office, automatic CNAM lookups can be turned on for all VoIP Innovations terminated numbers,' company officials explain.

And in a nod to personal safety, the VoIP Innovations Enhanced 911 API allows users to immediately update E-911 information associated with a particular DID at any time.
Company officials are proud of their number clearinghouse, which allows instant DID provisioning: 'DIDs can be selected by area, NPA (News - Alert) NXX, state, rate center and more. This way to handle DID ordering and provision was designed and developed by the VoIP Innovations development team.'
Last summer, the company announced the release of their upgraded, more user-friendly back office design.

To go along with their usual Web management tools with a suite of reports, functions, and information, the vendor featured 'a new look and much more added features,' such as a shopping cart for ordering DID’s -- 'just pick and click.'
The tweaked offerings included update administrative, billing, porting, and ticket contacts in real-time, 24x7, and the ability to make a payment, submit a billing dispute, view transactions and view packages and pricing.

VoIP Innovations officials claim DID coverage in over 7,000 rates centers across the US's 48 contiguous states, and now outbound termination service has expanded to global reach.
Be sure to visit VoIP Innovations company at ITEXPO East 2010, happening Jan. 20 to 22 in Miami, at booth #318.

- The Advantages of Using SIP Trunks over a PRI from the Phone Company: A Primary Rate Interface (PRI) is the basic connection used by phone companies that allow multiple voice and data paths to share a common circuit. The PRI consists of 23 B channels, which carry voice and data, and 1 D channel, which carries signaling data for the other 23 channels. This ratio is fixed and channels must be added in multiples of 23 should you need to add more. Each PRI requires data communication hardware on either end.
- VoIP and Business Continuity: An organization's communication system is the most important aspect of any business continuity plan. Without an effective method for people to communicate with one other, all other activities become moot.
- What is a SIP trunk?: A SIP trunk is a data connection that utilizes Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) and carries voice over IP (VoIP) traffic. The SIP trunk defines the connection between two voice switches and can carry multiple VoIP calls simultaneously. The trunk is then divided into logical pathways, called channels. Each channel carries one voice conversation.
