VoIP Innovations Unveils Off-Network SMS
The modern, digital customer presents a challenge when it comes to engagement. One channel showing much in the way of results is text messages. SMS notifications are serving businesses well, as what’s the one thing nobody leaves home without? Their smartphone.
This week, wholesale VoIP services provider, VoIP Innovations (News - Alert), is now offering SMS service plans for those with numbers not on its network. API POST/GET, SIP, email or SMS forwarding to a different number are options for SMS delivery.
The new services start with a 75 cent registration fee, then off to text messaging, at the rate of $0.0085 per SMS, with MMS services coming soon for $0.003 per message. And, due to the multitude of delivery options, the VoIP Innovation service integrates with most legacy systems.
For those that are curious, VoIP innovations is offering a 14-day free trial period to take the service out for a test drive. Once signed up, it’s a simple as logging in to your VoIP Innovations account, selecting SMS, adding a new DID, check “Off-Network” and let the engagement begin.
“With the increase in adults that grew up with cell phones, SMS is becoming a larger part of the world's real-time communication,” said President of VoIP Innovations, David Walsh (News - Alert). “With a record 77% of Americans now owning a smartphone, SMS communication will soon become as important as email communication. It’s entirely possible that customers are trying to reach you via SMS right now.”
It is clear society is moving in a decidedly mobile direction. From UC solutions to the local high school, more people are using text messaging as a means of communications, which aids in open rates. To SMS or not SMS; there is no question.
