Chat With Nat

This week I want to start off by sharing a fun fact with everyone: If you yelled for 1 year, 7 months, 26 days, 20 hours, 26 minutes and 40 seconds, the sound energy you produce will be enough to heat one cup of coffee (Via Physics Central)! So any time you’re having a stressful day and just feel like yelling, know that if you yell long enough you’ll eventually get a soothing cup of coffee.

And now let me give you a little recap of some of the things we posted this week…

How Secure is VoIP: There is no sugarcoating in this article! The author gets right down to it and says that there is “no such as a one hundred percent secure form of communication.” When trying to figure out if VoIP is right for your business, the first thing you should really be looking at is your Internet connection. Check out this article for more tips on making sure you’re being as safe as you can be.

5 Trends in Business IP Telephony: Through research and consultations, IT architects have revealed five of the most popular trends in the way businesses communicate today. Is your business heading in the right direction? Find out what else you could be doing!

Wholesale VoIP for the Rest of us: The last post we featured this week is from an author who takes out the confusing jargon and gets right down to the facts. She explains that by switching to VoIP, a business could be reaping countless benefits; two main benefits being that VoIP is cheap and comes with many great features. She also talks about what some of the requirements are that you’ll need before you actually make the big switch to a VoIP phone system.

Here are some things you have to look forward to next week…

The Changing VoIP Market In 2014: The sun is setting on hardware-based PBX systems and flexibility is becoming more and more popular.

Countdown to ITEXPO (News - Alert) 2014: You’ll get an overview of the conference from an attendee's perspective and you’ll get a refresher on what we’ll be showcasing (our time-saving features and complete transparency!).

Meet our Support Team: If you remember a few weeks back, we introduced you to our fantastic Porting Team. Next week you’ll be to meet to the brilliant minds that make up our Support Team.

PBX (News - Alert) Security Tutorial: Our Support Team is taking the stage this week as one of our Technical Services Representatives, Ian Hambelton, talks about how you can make it difficult for would-be attackers to gain access to your devices, which could subsequently rack up a huge phone bill for you.

ITEXPO News: The final countdown has begun! As of today, there are only 10 more days until we’re in Miami with the rest of the telecommunications industry. You’ll find us at booth 606, but if you get lost, just look for the 10-foot-tall VI Guys who were with us in Las Vegas, and other indicators pointing you to our booth. If you do stop by, you’ll get the chance to talk with Nick Medina and Corey Potts (Sales), Tim Linn (Lead Engineer), Randy Stegner (Operations Manager) and Jason Tapolci (President). You’ll also find me at the show and I’ll be taking pictures, posting Facebook (News - Alert) statuses, Tweeting and even making Vines!

I’d also like to make one last ITEXPO announcement before I end my Chat with Nat for today. If you remember from my last post about ITEXPO, I mentioned that we’re working to create an End User Portal that will allow the end user to manage their services, rather than the reseller having to do it. This new portal is expected to be released before ITEXPO so make sure to ask us about it when you stop by our booth.

That just about wraps up this week’s Chat with Nat! I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.
