Vox Launches First Ever Campaign For Its Android App on Yahoo

In an effort to boost sales for its new VoIP app for Android, VoX Communications (News - Alert), a Pervasip subsidiary and a leading cloud-based mobile VoIP and video telephone services provider, launched an advertising campaign with Yahoo.

According to an industry estimate, Yahoo is the number one company in finance and entertainment sector, and the second leading in search, instant messaging, news, sports and mail. Additionally, Yahoo Mobile reaches 59.9 million users every month, and 51 percent of all US mobile users. Vox seeks to tap this vast market reach of Yahoo to take its app – which already received rave reviews from over 70,000 users – to a wider audience.

According to a press release, the campaign is going to highlight the several ways consumer can gain from the app, including free VoX to VoX calling, low cost international plans, roaming avoidance and Wi-Fi calling.

“Yahoo's reach is vast in the market, which is why we chose to advertise with them and feel this is the campaign we need to drive sales of our app. Their mobile advertising network will allow us to learn from users who click our ads and properly attract similar users during the campaign. We already have a high conversion rate of consumers who are finding our app in the Google (News - Alert) Play store and hope this initiative has the potential to grow our user base exponentially to new levels,” CMO of VoX Communications Barry MacCheyne expaliend in a statement.

The app has already become quite popular with the Android (News - Alert) users. VoX reported 70,000 downloads of its app from the Google Play store, and it received over 700 reviews and an average rating of 4.6 stars. Even more impressive, this remarkable achievement was attained without any significant investment in advertising so far. This Yahoo campaign officially marks the company’s first significant attempt at promoting the app.

Last week, the company announced the addition of fixed priced calling plans to the United Kingdom via its Android mobile voice app available in Google Play. The fixed priced plans include calling to mobile phones in the United Kingdom at prices that are significantly lower than prices charged by other competitive carriers.
