Wholesale VoIP Feature Article
Wholesale VoIP Companies Charge Forward with Innovation
Wholesale VoIP provider VoX Communications (News - Alert), a wholly owned subsidiary of Pervasip, recently unveiled a mobile VoIP app that can be used on all Android (News - Alert) mobile phones and Android tablets.
"We are very excited about delivering a mobile VoIP app via Google's incredibly popular Android Market,” Pervasip's Chief Information Officer Mark Richards said. “We believe that this venue will give us significant exposure, as this app will be available to over 100 million Android smart phones globally and provide unlimited calls and text to other VoX users globally for as little as $4.95 a month."
The VoX mobile VoIP app, which can be viewed or downloaded here, offers several features that give it an advantage over other VoIP apps, according to company officials. First, the app promises unlimited calling to the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
“With our app you can also set it to automatically register with VoX when Wi-Fi is turned on, or keep it registered for 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi,” Richards said. “We believe that we can add video calling to this product by the end of the year. This enhancement will enable video calling between an Android phone and an Ojo Vision video phone. As a nimble development technology company, we intend to produce a tablet video app that brings superior video calling to the Android Market."
"We have the ability to easily update plans offered, and we intend to be creative with target audiences that are looking for fixed blocks of calls for a fixed dollar amount rather than charging a monthly fee for services that people don't always use,” he added. “This new interface enables us to tailor the plans offered so that we could even offer a $1 plan that only depletes a consumer's cash balance when calls are made. We intend to offer similar creative calling plans to those offered recently by Vonage (News - Alert) and also intend to offer them at competitive prices.”
According to reports, INSTAT estimates that the number of mobile VoIP users will approach 300 million by 2013. Gartner (News - Alert) anticipates that global smartphone sales will grow from just 298 million units in 2010 to 999 million units in 2014 and global tablet sales will grow from 17.6 million units in 2010 to over 220 million units in 2014.
In other industry news, recently nationwide wholesale VoIP provider Alcazar Networks announced that it is now offering direct on net/off net Canada termination routes at significant savings, building upon Alcazar’s decision last month to cover 100 percent of Canada which includes over 26,400 routes. These Canada routes are in addition to the wholesale VoIP company’s full US48 dialer termination deck which currently has over 140,800 routes.
The savings of Canadian routes are as much as 20 percent, according to John Chisca, vice president of Alcazar Networks.
“Until recent, Alcazar Networks only provided US48 termination but due to overwhelming requests, we have added direct suppliers to our termination offering,” Chisca told TMCnet. “Customers that were using multiple carriers will now have the ability to use Alcazar Networks for not only their US48 termination but also for their Canadian termination needs. Keeping quality in the foreground, we are still able to offer our customers termination at a savings!”
