360networks (News - Alert), a facilities-based wholesale provider of private line transport, Ethernet, IP, and VoIP services, has announced connectivity to a San Diego data center.

Officials with 360networks said that the wholesale VoIP company has completed a build out to the redIT data center, 12270 World Trade Drive, San Diego, California.

redIT supports the global IT community with private, customizable cloud services and data centers in the southwestern U.S. and Latin America.

redIT enables its clients to focus resources on what drives their competitive advantage - not the distractions of owning and managing IT.

According to company officials, this new data center location provides customers with additional connectivity solutions in support of their cloud services and other end-user applications.

With this new location 360networks now covers over 70 markets within its 22 state coverage area.

"The addition of a carrier with the broad coverage and product portfolio of 360networks is great news for San Diego," said Mark Barlow, chief operating officer of redIT U.S., in a statement.

“We're pleased to have been selected as their San Diego Point of Presence and have already seen significant interest in their services from our customer base," added Barlow.

Steve Cardwell, vice president of sales for 360networks, said that the company will continue to expand its reach by connecting more data centers to the regional backbone network, like the company has done in San Diego, with redIT providing the reliable infrastructure the company needs.

"Anyone seeking connectivity or data center access out of, or into California's largest markets, now has more options," said Cardwell.

TMCnet recently reported that TelePacific Communications (News - Alert) has selected 360networks for the deployment of capacity for the company into Chico, California.

360networks converted its Chico optical regeneration site into a point of presence (POP) site, able to support the needs of other customers as well. 360networks offers a full line of fiber broadband solutions, each with the flexibility to support customer's unique capacity, interface, geographic and pricing needs.

The company's fiber broadband solutions include dedicated Ethernet, switched Ethernet, optical, wavelengths, SONET and IP services, the company stated in a press release.
