The Benefits of VoIP Extend Beyond Price

As you’re no doubt aware, VoIP means using your broadband Internet connection for phone calls. Yes the technology was a bit rough a few years ago as they were working out the kinks, but have you used it lately?

According to officials of Whichvoip.com, a site that helps compare different VoIP providers to get you the best deal for your needs, the blinding advantage of VoIP is still that it’s far cheaper, in most instances, than POTS – Plain Old Telephone Service. And there’s nothing hocus-pocus, high techy about using it; you use it just like you use your present phone service.

Here are some main benefits of VoIP:

Ease of use. VoIP is pretty simple to install, so see which service is said to have the easiest and most straightforward products. Do they offer plenty of technical support? Do the customers say they get answers to questions quickly?

Reliability. Here’s one place VoIP has improved tremendously from when you might have tried it last. Broadband is much more reliable these days, Whichvoip.com goes a bit cheerleadery and says “more dependable than any other communication method you can find.” But set up correctly it won’t give you too many problems.

Service and support. It’s important to pay attention to what customers say about the quality of support and service they get from their VoIP providers. As Whichvoip.com says, “there should be some online support as well as a way to reach technical support by telephone,” in “clear instructions and explanations even to those who are unfamiliar with the telephony terminology.

Price. This is the fun part. You can find complete monthly Internet phone service for under $20 per month, but be sure to watch for the calling plans that are available. Most have unlimited local and long distance calling packages and some include international calling as well.
